When Uzzah died David was scared. Many folks today are scared to worship.
12 And David was afraid of God that day, saying, How shall I bring the ark of God home to me?
13 So David brought not the ark home to himself to the city of David, but carried it aside into the house of Obed-edom the Gittite.
14 And the ark of God remained with the family of Obed-edom in his house three months. And the Lord blessed the house of Obed-edom, and all that he had.
For the first time in our story, the ark was a blessing and not a curse.
Bring the Word in your house, and God will bless it. Don’t be scared of it, let it dwell there.
One of the reasons David failed in bringing back the ark the first time is he failed to prepare a place for it.
He was trying to bring the ark to the city of David, his own denomination.
(Same as they tried to do to Bro. Branham)
Wanted to bring it to the city of David. Why? There was no place ready for it.
And that’s the reason you can’t bring the Message to a denomination. The Word, the Ark, Christ, “the same yesterday, today, and forever,” and all His identification, you can’t bring It to your organization. They’ll never believe It, because there is no room for It. 65-0718M - "Trying To Do God A Service Without Being The Will Of God”
There was no place ready for it at that time, and so is it today. These great mysteries that’s been unfolded by the Seven Seals, there’s not a place in any denomination…would have to quit being a denomination to take It. All the way from Luther on down to the Pentecostal Oneness, there’s not a place can receive It. 65-1127B - "Trying To Do God A Service Without It Being God's Will"
1 And David made him houses in the city of David, and prepared a place for the ark of God, and pitched for it a tent.
The Lord wouldn’t let him build a temple, that would come later, he brought it to a tent.
5 For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: In the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; He shall set me up upon a rock.
The word “Tabernacle” in the old testament is “tent”.
44 Our fathers had the tabernacle of witness in the wilderness, as he had appointed, speaking unto Moses, that he should make it according to the fashion that he had seen.
45 Which also our fathers that came after brought in with Jesus into the possession of the Gentiles, whom God drave out before the face of our fathers, unto the days of David;
46 Who found favour before God, and desired to find a tabernacle for the God of Jacob.
47 But Solomon built him an house.
48 Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet,
49 Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest?
5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:
What is the Tabernacle now? A Body, God tabernacling in a Body. 62-1014M - "The Stature Of A Perfect Man"
He veils Himself in the tent of His body, the Bride. That is where the Full Word had to come back to.
We are the place prepared for the Word.
We pledge this, Lord, to You, as a people, after this message; that, no matter what denomination, what sensation, what we have done: whether we have shouted, whether we have screamed, whether we have spoke with tongues, whether we have danced in the Spirit, or any of these sensations.
O God, let the Holy Spirit bring it into the hearts of people now, to know that those things doesn’t count. That, it’s tabernacling Deity, God, in our hearts. 61-1105 - "The Testimony Of A True Witness"
I say, “Are you a Christian?” To be a Christian, you must be Christ-like, tabernacling Deity in you, with the Holy Ghost, like fell on the Day of Pentecost. Not some emotion, but I mean a real Pentecost. 61-1112 - "A True Sign That's Overlooked"
I’ve never believed that the Holy Ghost was “shaking.” I’ve never believed that the Holy Ghost was “evidence of speaking in tongues, or crying, or shouting.” Them is emotional sensations. I believe the Holy Ghost can do that. But the Holy Ghost is tabernacling Deity. 61-1112 - "A True Sign That's Overlooked"
That’s what’s the matter today. People get worked up and excited, emotion, and it’s not the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost is tabernacling Deity. Your words is His Words. 61-1112 - "A True Sign That's Overlooked"
How do you prepare a place for the ark? By the new creation.
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
You become a new person. Amen! Not just an old one patched up, by joining church or trying to turn a new page, but you are a complete brand-new unit.
God takes the old man and burns him completely out, with the Holy Ghost and Fire, and comes Himself, sends down your representation. 64-0802 - "The Future Home Of The Heavenly Bridegroom And The Earthly Bride"
Before the Ark could come into Solomon’s temple it had to be brought into David’s prepared tent. Before the Word can come incarnate in the Millennium He must return in His full power in our tent.
2 Then David said, None ought to carry the ark of God but the Levites: for them hath the Lord chosen to carry the ark of God, and to minister unto him for ever.
He got a revelation that God only works through man.
He uses not the agency of any mechanical device, but the agency of man, a man that’s surrendered and consecrated to God. 62-0603 - "The End-Time Evangelism"
(Prayer line)
May, as they pass through this line and we lay our hands upon them, may they recognize it’s just not just going by man, but God and man is one.
God has come into man, and God does nothing apart from man. That’s what He does. His works is through man. He made man His partner. 63-1130E - "Go, Awake Jesus"
2 Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.
When He looked upon the harvest, He was the Lord of the harvest, and He said, “The harvest is ripe, the laborers are few; pray ye the Lord of the harvest, that He may send laborers into His harvest,” making Himself with man so bound together that He works only through the agency of man.
He chose man to work for Him. He could have chose the sun to preach the Gospel, He could have chose the winds, or the trees, or the stars. But He chose man, veils Himself inside, hides Himself from the unbeliever, reveals Himself to who He will. 64-0619 - "Perseverant"
3 And David gathered all Israel together to Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the Lord unto his place, which he had prepared for it.
He had a meeting. This time, there was a prepared place for the Word to rest.
4 And David assembled the children of Aaron, and the Levites:
Don’t look now, but David is getting with a bunch of preachers.
11 And David called for Zadok and Abiathar the priests, and for the Levites, for Uriel, Asaiah, and Joel, Shemaiah, and Eliel, and Amminadab,
12 And said unto them, Ye are the chief of the fathers of the Levites: sanctify yourselves, both ye and your brethren, that ye may bring up the ark of the Lord God of Israel unto the place that I have prepared for it.
13 For because ye did it not at the first, the Lord our God made a breach upon us, for that we sought him not after the due order.
14 So the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of the Lord God of Israel.
God, let this sink deep in the hearts. The Word of God has no right to be preached out of an unholy mouth. It should not be preached out of a mouth of a man that would say that Jesus Christ was once one thing and now something else.
It must be preached by a power of the living God through sanctified lips that’s dedicated to the service of the Lord.
Let these ashes, the waters of separation, be kept in a holy place. No believer that ever takes on the Name of the Lord Jesus, that ever confesses Him as Saviour, should ever do anything of the world.
If he does, he should repent of it quickly, because them words of the waters of separation must be kept in a holy place, handled with clean hands.
No man has a right to preach the Gospel without first being sanctified from the cares and things of this world. 59-0708M - "Dedication Of Building, To The Lord"
19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.
In other words, He had a right. He was a man. He had a right to a home. He had a right to a family. He was man, much man as you are, or I am, as much human in His manhood as we were. He had a right to it.
But He was training twelve men that was going to take the Gospel to all the world, so He sanctified Himself for their sake. “I sanctify Myself, for their sake.” A Gift of God, keeping Hisself sanctified.
Oh, gifts of God, you people who claim that you’ve received His Spirit, keep yourself sanctified. Yes. Keep away from the things of the world, be sanctified. 60-1225 - "God's Wrapped Gift"
Would we be willing to sanctify ourselves for our neighbors sake?
15 And the children of the Levites bare the ark of God upon their shoulders with the staves thereon, as Moses commanded according to the word of the Lord.
16 And David spake to the chief of the Levites to appoint their brethren to be the singers with instruments of musick, psalteries and harps and cymbals, sounding, by lifting up the voice with joy.
David was a musician, but he was going to have others play in this meeting so he could lead the procession.
Then David ordered the chiefs of the Levites to appoint their brothers as singers with instruments of song, musical instruments, stringed instruments, and cymbals, raising their voices for joy. LEB
David used the equivalent of fiddles, guitars and drums.
17 So the Levites appointed Heman the son of Joel; and of his brethren, Asaph the son of Berechiah; and of the sons of Merari their brethren, Ethan the son of Kushaiah;
18 And with them their brethren of the second degree, Zechariah, Ben, and Jaaziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, Eliab, and Benaiah, and Maaseiah, and Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and Obed-edom, and Jeiel, the porters.
19 So the singers, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan, were appointed to sound with cymbals of brass;
Oh no, here come the drums.
20 And Zechariah, and Aziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, and Eliab, and Maaseiah, and Benaiah, with psalteries on Alamoth;
(Alamoth and Sheminith are musical terms)
21 And Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and Obed-edom, and Jeiel, and Azaziah, with harps on the Sheminith to excel.
22 And Chenaniah, chief of the Levites, was for song: he instructed about the song, because he was skilful.
Here’s the song-leader, a regular Colby Martin.
23 And Berechiah and Elkanah were doorkeepers for the ark.
Deacons
24 And Shebaniah, and Jehoshaphat, and Nethaneel, and Amasai, and Zechariah, and Benaiah, and Eliezer, the priests, did blow with the trumpets before the ark of God: and Obed-edom and Jehiah were doorkeepers for the ark.
What a noise they must have made.
25 So David, and the elders of Israel, and the captains over thousands, went to bring up the ark of the covenant of the Lord out of the house of Obed-edom with joy.
Here is men and women kneeling right here, that’s been Christian for years. I don’t unchristianize them. But what I’m trying to do is tell them that devil, that’s a haunting them, is keeping them out of the full Joy.
The Holy Ghost is Joy. Brother, I wake up drunk, I go to bed drunk, I’m drunk all day long, drunk all night long. Oh, I just love to…I go fishing, I’m just, “Pass me not, O gentle Saviour. Hear my humble cry.”
I go hunting, and singing the praises of God. I’m preaching, I…everywhere I go. Don’t you want to be that way? Full of the Holy Ghost, It stimulates you. Oh, my! 55-0724 - "Enticing Spirits"
It’s the joy unspeakable and full of glory. How the old saints of God used to set around and sing the redemption song, and sing of the Blood and the power of God. And today it’s as cold as zero nearly.
You don’t have them old fashion songs you used to sing. You don’t see their faces light up no more, and sing and clap their hands, and raise their hands to God, and praise God, pray all night, and lay out in the corn fields, and things.
Why, you can’t set in church thirty minutes without grumbling and growling. True. It’s the truth. Borderline, lukewarm, Laodicean…My, shame on you. 56-0801 - "The Arrow Of God's Deliverance Shot From A Bow"
Here not long ago, Brother Fred and I, and Brother Tom, a bunch of us went to a noted Baptist church in the city of Tucson, to see if we couldn’t find a little something that would give us maybe a little fresh feeling.
And the minister said something another about the people in Egypt, when they left they was eating garlic and so forth, they wanted to go back again and eat that. Said, “That’s something like people of today.”
And, we, everybody said, “Amen!” I never seen such a bunch! The whole church lost the sight of the preacher and looked back to see who it was that said “amen.” Liked to scared them to death. They didn’t know what it was.
When, David said, “Make a joyful noise unto the Lord. Praise Him upon harps! Praise Him with the psaltery! Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. And praise ye the Lord!” God rejoices in His people. Let them of the learned, say, “Amen,” when anything is said right.
Why not turn from this system and cisterns of the world, to the faithful system of God, which is the artesian well, Jesus Christ? Why don’t you turn to Him, where God is our abundant supply of joy, our abundant supply in praises, our abundant supply in satisfaction? The calmness of my nerves comes from God.
When I’m tore up, I find my satisfaction in Christ, not in a cigarette, not in the things of the world, not in joining some creed; but in finding Him, the promised Word that He said, “If I go away, I’ll come again to receive you.” I find my joy in that. He is my Joy. 64-0726E - "Broken Cisterns"
26 And it came to pass, when God helped the Levites that bare the ark of the covenant of the Lord, that they offered seven bullocks and seven rams.
27 And David was clothed with a robe of fine linen, and all the Levites that bare the ark, and the singers, and Chenaniah the master of the song with the singers: David also had upon him an ephod of linen.
28 Thus all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the Lord with shouting, and with sound of the cornet, and with trumpets, and with cymbals, making a noise with psalteries and harps.
Bro. Branham talking about kids passing notes.
Course, somebody worshipping the Lord, that’s expected. That’s what it should be. That’s what you’re here for, is to worship the Lord.
Just if you feel like praising God, or shouting, just go right on, see, ’cause that’s what you’re here for, see, but, is to worship the Lord in your own way of worshipping. 63-0317M - "God Hiding Himself In Simplicity, Then Revealing Himself In The Same"
29 And it came to pass, as the ark of the covenant of the Lord came to the city of David, that Michal the daughter of Saul looking out at a window saw king David dancing and playing: and she despised him in her heart.
David didn’t always dance.
Sometimes he cried. Sometimes he meditated. But on this occasion, he danced.
Why did he dance?
The Word was being restored to its proper place.
Oh, you say, “I can’t see these things. I don’t believe in shouting. I don’t believe in speaking in tongues. I don’t believe in Divine healing.” It just shows you’ve never got the victory. That’s right. But one time you get the victory, then you’ve got it. Then you have it. Yes, sir, then you can shout.
You seen one time I used to think about dancing in the Spirit, see somebody stand and dance in the Spirit. Now, I’ve seen the mockery put on of it, but I’ve seen the real thing, too.
So, I come to find out, why could people dance in the Spirit? Well, I never seen one yet get out of the way, I never seen one yet act immorally.
I always see it just as decently and in order and sweetness, and even sinners run to the altar and get saved when it’s going on. Well, I wondered why it was, and I come to find out it’s victory.
David danced before the Lord, when the Ark was brought back to Its resting place. Amen. When David saw the Word, as It was then with the tables of stone, brought back to Its right place, David rejoiced and danced in the Spirit, around and around and around. Why? He saw the Word back in Its place. Amen.
What the Word needs, is not out of some seminary, some theological mix up; but an old-fashioned, God-sent preacher behind the pulpit, with the Word, seeing God vindicate It, proof.
Then David said, “Glory to God, this is It!” And around and around and around and around. His little stuck-up wife set up there, being the king’s daughter, said, “Why, he embarrasses me.”
And David said, “You don’t like that? Watch this!” And around and around he went again. Yes! Oh, my, what a time he had!
You know, God looked down out of Heaven, said, “David, you’re a man after My Own heart.” See? See? Why? He had done lost all pride, he had done lost all of his. Yet he was married to a king’s daughter, but that wasn’t even considered then.
He knowed that he was acquainted with the Possessor of Heavens and earth, and here was the Word of God coming right back among them again, and David was so happy he danced. He just danced as hard as he could.
Miriam, she grabbed the tambourine and went down the bank, dancing on the other side. After she had come through the Red Sea and seen her enemies drowned, then she could dance in the Spirit.
When she seen the enemies that had tormented her, dead, then she danced in the Spirit. That’s right. Now, see, after! After the battle’s won, then the glory of God comes down. 62-0506 - "Possessing All Things"
Conclusion
Conclusion
When I see the Open Book, When I see the Word in its place, I can dance like David danced. My victory is in the Word, and the Word has been restored to my heart. Let me dance the dance of victory with David, the ark has returned to its tabernacle.
When I think about the Lord
